In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, the Roosevelt Public Library and New York jazz vocalist Rahsaan Cruse Jr. invite you to a special live concert recording. Join Rahsaan and his exceptional eight-piece ensemble for an intimate evening highlighting the enduring traditions of swing and jazz.
The mission
“This concert represents more than what you may initially see,” says Cruse. “It’s about preserving a moment in time — celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month, uplifting our communities in song, and contributing to the living history of this music.”
Celebrating Jazz Appreciation month
In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, the Roosevelt Public Library honors the legacy of jazz as a vital part of American culture and history. This nationwide celebration, established in 2001 by the Smithsonian Institution, serves to recognize the enduring tradition of this music. By hosting this live concert recording, we reinforce our community’s presence within the broader landscape of American jazz while preserving a moment of song and uplifting the spirit of our residents.
