DIRECTOR'S REFLECTIONS
This time of year, some of us are already falling into FALL, while many of us are Reflecting! A Summer of doing things you can only do in the Summer fades fast (don’t stop riding your bike, taking a swim or going for Upstate Fall Hikes – Thank us later for suggesting). While some Reflect; and others plan for next seasonal adventures…. We can all ask, What’s Next?!!
The Roosevelt Public Library Cultural Arts Center was the language to describe the new experience when we reopened our doors to include the newest facility. The Board of Trustees fittingly renamed RPL to reshape its future. I Reflected on what that really means. Our Community loves expressing itself in every way imaginable. We Dance. We Sing. We Create. We Share Experiences! And Yes, We READ… and Write. Everything is Art, Culture, Experience, Remembrance if you ask me! A reflective moment: this Summer faithfully guided us through the success of our Summer Breeze Concert Series; The Annual Children’s Day Festival; Juneteenth and a host of Youth and Adult Activities. I will keep personally Thanking this Staff for being the true Glue through it all! And our Community who continues to support the Roosevelt Public Library Cultural Arts Center!
So what’s next?! Pull out your RPL Library Black Card and let’s explore. Here’s a good starting point, RPL has returned to opening on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. And though the library is returning to closing on Sundays, we invite you to jump on KANOPY for virtual Sunday Films with discussions on Monday afternoons to Reflect!
Yes… Your Library is now open to you…24/7!
Check our website for updates and changes.
Please note the Proposed 2025 Budget drafts provided at the Community Budget Meeting on September 26 is available for review.
