Rules and Regulations

OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND EDUCATIONAL ATMOSPHERE FOR ALL. WE ASK THAT YOU FOLLOW THESE LIBRARY RULES. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY IN THE EVENT OF YOUR VIOLATION OF THESE RULES.

  • No eating or drinking is allowed in the Roosevelt Public Library.
  • All trash must be placed in the proper receptacles.
  • To ensure proper safety, playing near or on the stairs and elevator is prohibited.
  • There will be no loitering on library property. There will be no kick boxing, horsing around or playing on the lawn or in the parking lot.
  • Roosevelt Public Library is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Bikes left unattended are the responsibility of the owner and are not to be left in front of the Library.
  • No weapon of any kind is allowed in the Roosevelt Public Library, possession of a weapon is grounds for removal or police intervention.
  • During regular school hours, children from K-12 are not permitted in the library unless accompanied by a responsible adult. Class trips will be exception.
  • Young children Grades K-6 must utilize the Children’s Room for reading, study and computer use.
  • Young children may not be allowed on the lower level of the Roosevelt Public Library unless accompanied by an adult.
  • Young children may not be left unattended. They must be accompanied by an adult or older sibling, 15 years or older.
  • Any child asked to leave the library twice will not be readmitted without a parent or guardian.
  • Any adult asked to leave the library twice will have their library card revoked.
  • Any misconduct, including but not limited to, verbal abuse (i.e.: yelling, screaming, cursing, loud talking, etc.) is grounds for removal. Throwing books, articles of clothing or any other objects is grounds for removal.
  • Failure to follow directions of Security Personnel is grounds for removal.
  • Gym equipment, football helmets, sports equipment etc., are not allowed in the library. No card playing is permitted in the library.
  • All persons who enter the Roosevelt Public Library must behave responsibility and are accountable for their actions.

The Roosevelt Public Library is a wonderful place where all are welcome.

Please do not abuse the privilege.
