The Roosevelt Public Library (RPL) is a special district library based in the heart of the Roosevelt community at the intersection of West Fulton Avenue and Nassau Boulevard.

The library serves a population of 16,258 and supports the Roosevelt Union Free School District (RUFSD).  The schools within the RUFSD include Centennial Avenue Elementary, Ulysses Byas Elementary, Washington Rose Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School, and Roosevelt High School.  The Roosevelt Children’s Academy, a charter school, is also located in this district.

The Roosevelt Public Library collection, in addition to a vast array of books and media, includes a significant Black Heritage collection which is the third largest compilation of its kind in New York. It contains rare, special, and first edition books, particular to African and African American culture, and children’s and teens’ literature.

The library’s second floor is the new Cultural Arts Center where many plays and special events are held.

The Roosevelt Public Library is located less than fifteen minutes from the Long Island Children’s Museum, Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College, and the Roosevelt Field Mall.
